Smart Justice Alliance - Florida

The Florida Justice Alliance is a political group that advocates for public safety. Florida's misguided criminal justice policies have failed our citizens for decades. Florida has the third largest prison population in the US with over 87,000 in state prison, costing taxpayers tens of millions of dollars each year. Our goal it to apply empirical evidence and science to criminal justice. We should be incorporating practices that work, seeking to reintegrate the formerly incarcerated citizens back into the community, better equipped to succeed than they went in. Our overcrowded and understaffed warehouse prisons produce just the opposite.
