I support freedom, liberty, and a government run By the People. An honest process of free and fair elections, nonviolence, accountability, and a peaceful transfer of power set make sure that every vote can be counted and every voter’s voice can be heard. In Missouri, we have experienced devastating impacts of political leaders espousing violent rhetoric, rigging elections through disenfranchisement and voter suppression, and aligning themselves with hate groups and anti-government militias to subvert the will of the People and attack our Republic, stripping away many fundamental human rights like healthcare and education. Attacks on free and fair elections make our country and our communities less safe, open us up to attacks from hostile foreign governments, and destabilizes other countries that look to our example as they model our values as a world leader. I strongly support all means to safeguard and secure our democratic processes as a matter of domestic security and common sense international foreign policy.
