Signed Team Democracy's Safe and Fair Election Pledge as 2022 Candidate for Governor, Iowa
Democracy requires trust. Trust that elections will be fair and honest. Trust that winners will be magnanimous in victory, and losers will be gracious in defeat. I trust Iowa's election officials as I know personally both my County Auditor (a Democrat), whose office will count the votes, and Iowa's Secretary of State (a Republican), whose office will consolidate the county votes and determine the overall winner.

I have total confidence in the integrity of Iowa's voting process, and in the results it produces. For that reason, I will be either magnanimous or gracious on the evening of November 8th, regardless of the outcome in my race.
