I pledged to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic. I said this oath eleven times in a lifetime of service supporting US ideals abroad. It is patently clear that now an existential threat to the very core of democracy exists. Threats to voting rights are central to this attack on democracy. These attacks on free and fair access to voting lead to the decay of a representational democracy, the will of the people, and the soul of this great nation. I shall stand stalwart, unbending, and as a servant leader in the fight for democracy.
